The action mechanism of lithium ion battery

Lithium-ion batteries with carbon materials as the negative electrode, lithium-containing compounds as the positive electrode, there is no metal lithium, only lithium ions, this is lithium-ion battery. Lithium-ion battery refers to the lithium ion embedded compounds as cathode material batteries. The charging and discharging process of lithium ion battery is the process of embedding and removing lithium ions. In the process of embedding and stripping lithium ions, it is accompanied by embedding and stripping with equivalent electrons such as lithium ions (the customary cathode is expressed by embedding or stripping, while the cathode is represented by inserting or stripping). In the charge and discharge process, lithium ions in the positive and negative between the insertion/removal and insert/plug, is the image known as "rocking chair battery."

When charging the battery, lithium ions are generated on the positive electrode of the battery, and the lithium ions are generated by electrolyte movement to the cathode. And as the negative carbon is layered structure, it has a lot of pores, to reach the anode of lithium ions embedded in the carbon layer of the micro-pore, the more embedded lithium ion, the higher the charging capacity. Similarly, when the battery is discharged (that is, the process of using the battery), the lithium ions embedded in the anode carbon layer are ejected and then returned to the cathode. The more lithium ions return to the cathode, the higher the discharge capacity.
